I'm sure you've heard the story before: boy meets girl. Boy owns wine shop. Girl drinks wine coolers. Boy is appalled and gets girl interested in fine wines. Girl becomes manager of wine shop. Shop excels. Boy becomes Small Business Leader of the Year for 2006. Huge discount wine retailer moves in literally around the corner from boy and girl. Their wine shop goes out of business, so they need a new focus. What better segue is there than from wine to cheese?
So boy and girl visit Vermont and fall in love with their artisan cheeses. They go to several farms and festivals and try numerous cheeses. They load up their suitcases and bring back the best of what they've tasted, and plan on going back to find more! And so The Vermont Cheese Shop was born.
